MLB Pitch Hit & Run

Join Queen Anne Little League on Saturday, May 17, 2008 for your local Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run(TM) skills competition sponsored by Aquafina. This is a free skills competition that provides boys and girls, ages 7 to 14, the opportunity to showcase their pitching, hitting and running abilities. Everyone has fun and individual winners in each age group can advance through four levels of competition, including a Team Championship event at Safeco Field and the National Finals at the MLB All-Star Game later this summer.

Pitch, Hit & Run tests three of the most fundamental aspects of baseball...PITCH: Participant is tested throwing six baseballs to a designated "Strike Zone target 45 feet away. HIT: Youngster gets two swings to hit a ball off a stationary tee for distance and accuracy. RUN: Youngster is timed, starting from second base, touching third and then home (no sliding). Participants compete in each of the three components and accumulate points for each skill as well as a total all-around score. Age brackets are: ages 7-8; 9-10; 11-12; 13-14 (as of July 17, 2008). Boys and girls compete together. Ribbons will be awarded for first place in each skill and age bracket and for first through third place for all-around winners in each age bracket. The 1st place all-around, pitching, hitting and running in each age group is eligible to advance to a sectional competition. (For additional information about the PHR competition, see http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/kids/mlb_pitch_hit_run.jsp ):

Registration forms may be requested through your child's coach and will also be available at the time of the event. We are hoping for a staggered participation in order to accommodate all interested participants. We encourage teams to register for a specific time slot.
