Ken’s Corners Metropolitan Market

(April 8) Ken’s Market hurlers Alex McCullough, Nick Hanway and Tyler Hoogendoorn brought their “A” game to this season opener, hurling a one hitter to fan a successive contingent of Met Market batters. Yet Ken’s also brought the long ball to the match up – McCullough went five for five at bat, rapping a one run double-bagger, and a one run single in the process. Teammates Brian Cropp and Ian Feichtmeir each slapped two runs singles, and RBIs by Ronan Hagerty (a monster double), Jackson Faerber and Carl Loacker added insurance runs to the tally. The boys in pinstripes were not without their bright spots however: a running catch by Met’s Lucas Ford robbed a ball threatening to go yard near the left field fence line, and wily base-running by Joe Volk -- who multiplied a base on balls into a roundtrip around the infield -- negated a shut out.
