(May 3)Answering a sacrifice RBI penned by Kumon’s Millie Dofelmier at the top of the first, singles by Leone & Vaughn’s Sophie Berkley and Morgan Cameron (who then stole home), and a two run single by teammate Sophie Young sent the Blue Sox to the head of the class. This lead (threatened in the top of the third inning with another sac RBI by Dofelmier and runs batted in by Kumon’s Fiona McCully and Caroline Bromner) was multiplied by unearned runs, a one run single by Berkley and Young’s one run double-bagger. Hopes for a Kumon rally were iced at the top of the fourth, as Blue Sox closer Bella Jackson fanned three batters to stymie a comeback.
